Man United news: Ratcliffe green lights £8m move – sources
Man United will cut £8million off of their wage bill by reducing staff in Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s latest cost-cutting measures, sources have told Football Insider.
The British billionaire has wasted no time in making his mark at Old Trafford after taking sporting control from the Glazers in January.
Ratcliffe has already implemented cost-cutting measures at the club including stripping staff of their usual perks ahead of the FA Cup final last weekend.
As revealed by Football Insider in December, Ratcliffe gave the green light to cut over 100 jobs at United as part of a mass exodus.
As part of his plan to cut costs and staff numbers at Old Trafford, The Telegraph report that Ratcliffe has now sent a company-wide email to staff to voluntarily resign by next Wednesday.
Man United staff cuts will trim £8m off wage bill
Sources have told Football Insider that United aim to streamline multiple branches of the football club with smaller teams which will cut £8million from their overall wage bill.
The Red Devils currently have the largest workforce of any top-flight club with over 1,100 staff.

That figure is far higher than United’s ‘Big Six’ rivals, with Liverpool employing around 900 staff and Man City just 720.
Ratcliffe has also been openly critical about United’s facilities, describing the level of untidiness in offices as a “disgrace”.
