‘Man United now ready to follow Chelsea with huge summer deal’
Man United are plotting huge summer business in the upcoming transfer window despite pleas of poverty from co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The billionaire has recently suggested the club are on the brink of “going bust” as he justifies job cuts and more spending restrictions at Old Trafford.
However, Football Insider has revealed (29 April) that Man United are ready to sign an out-and-out striker as well as Wolves star Matheus Cunha this summer.
That is despite Ruben Amorim’s poor start at the club which sees them sit 14th in the Premier League and needing to win the Europa League to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has insisted United’s approach to the summer is out of sync with the financial picture at Old Trafford.

Man United could sell women’s side to sister company, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed Man United may be planning to follow Chelsea and sell infrastructure to sister companies to avoid breaching financial rules.
The Blues caused controversy by skirting Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and continuing to spend after selling their women’s side and club hotels in intra-company transactions.
Wyness suggested United’s plan to sign two big-money forwards – with Cunha‘s release clause alone set at £62.5million – isn’t possible without such a move.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “These transfer plans don’t make sense, from the numbers we’ve been given from Man United.
“They could be planning some deals. They could sell the women’s team internally, as with Chelsea.
“United could sell property, as Chelsea did with the hotels.
“But looking at the basics, Man United have not done a great job on the revenue side since Ratcliffe has come into place.”

Two goalkeepers could quit Man United
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 21 April that Man United goalkeeper duo Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton are expected to leave the club this summer.
Andre Onana, 29, has been linked with a potential United exit – but sources say it is unlikely they will want to allow three goalkeepers to leave in one window.
Bayindir, 27, is ready to quit Old Trafford after becoming unhappy with his lack of first-team opportunities – while Heaton is out of contract.
