‘Man United plan to accept big Garnacho offer’ after Aston Villa interest
Alejandro Garnacho will still attract “good money” for Manchester United this summer as Aston Villa weigh up a move to sign him.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson argued that Garnacho remains a “top” player despite falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim.
Garnacho is one of five players exiled from first-team training by Amorim this summer after a huge bust-up in the wake of last season’s Europa League final, which saw him limited to a late cameo off the bench.
Both Chelsea and Villa have expressed interest in signing Garnacho as United look to spark a bidding war for the wantaway winger, but Robinson told Football Insider that the situation reflects poorly on Amorim.
Garnacho still managed 21 goal contributions last season and is the only member of Amorim’s five-man ‘bomb squad’ who wasn’t sent out on loan last season, and Robinson tipped Aston Villa to pay a sizeable fee for the 21-year-old.

Aston Villa backed to sign ‘big character’ with Garnacho transfer
Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness previously told Football Insider that Man United could accept a fee as low as £40million for Garnacho this summer, but Robinson argued that this won’t be the case.
Speaking on the latest Inside Track, he said that Amorim’s stubbornness over Garnacho’s future could prove to be Villa’s gain, backing the Argentinian to showcase his best form away from Old Trafford.
“I don’t understand [Garnacho], every time I see him play he’s been a goal threat, he’s been an attacking threat”, Robinson told Football Insider.
“58 appearances, 11 goals and 10 assists – they’re not bad stats. He’s 21, a top player and they’ll get good money for him. Somebody will pay good money for him.
“I don’t understand the thinking, I really don’t, but [Amorim] is not keen on having big characters in the dressing room, seemingly.”

Garnacho well-placed to force through Aston Villa switch
Unlike fellow outcasts Marcus Rashford, Tyrell Malacia, Antony and Jadon Sancho, Garnacho’s wage demands aren’t expected to derail the prospect of a permanent exit from Man United this summer.
The Argentina international is already the owner of an Aston Villa shirt which he displayed very publicly on social media in June, leaving a sour taste in the mouths of Man United fans who had supported him.
Villa may have PSR worries to contend with this summer after missing out on the Champions League, but with Amorim’s stance on Garnacho unlikely to change, United could be left in a bind which allows Unai Emery to seal a cut-price deal for their number 17.
