‘Man United plot Eberechi Eze swoop after transfer mission’
Man United are weighing up whether to make a move to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, according to their former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for over a decade during their most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that United have been keeping a close eye on the 26-year-old.
Eze’s work under Oliver Glasner, who deploys a similar style to Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation, has highlighted him as a key target at Old Trafford.
However, there are concerns about the consistency of his performances and whether he would be the right player to elevate Amorim’s side.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool have also joined the race for Eze, but could be put off of a move by questions about his ability to step up.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have also been watching Eze as interest in the England international continues to ramp up ahead of the summer transfer window.

Man United to make Eberechi Eze decision
Brown told Football Insider earlier this month that Arsenal would love to sign Eze and could trigger the £68million release clause in his Crystal Palace contract.
Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and has also worked for the likes of Tottenham, West Ham and Aston Villa, insisted that the England international is not the right man for Man United.
“Man United have been watching Eberechi Eze,” he told Football Insider.
“They like what he can do and think he could add something to Ruben Amorim’s side.
“He’s the type of player where if you get the right players around him and get him the ball in dangerous areas, he’s going to make an impact.
“He’s down under Glasner that he can play in the 3-4-2-1 system which Amorim likes.
“But he operates in a certain way that if you’re expecting him to be involved in every aspect of the game, you’re going to be disappointed.
“He’s not going to work back, make tackles and then drive you up the pitch.
“If we assume United aren’t going to dominate possession of the ball, I think he becomes a passenger.
“So it’s a concern that he’s not quite as consistent as they’d want him to be.
“He’s certainty a talented player and there are lots of positives to his game and reasons all these clubs are interested in him.
“But he’s not going to be the player to make a real difference for Man United at the moment.”

Dean Henderson, Bart Verbruggen updates at Old Trafford
Eze is not the only Crystal Palace player to have been linked with a move to Man United in recent times, as Dean Henderson had been tipped for a return to Old Trafford.
However, Brown told Football Insider that Man United are unlikely to sign Henderson and will instead consider alternative targets.
The 28-year-old has kept the third-most clean sheets in the Premier League with 10 from 33 appearances since moving to Palace last summer.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider on 15 April that Man United want Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen as scouts have been watching his performances at the Amex.
