Man United plot Rayan Cherki raid after confirmed news – sources
Man United are keen on a potential swoop for Lyon star man Rayan Cherki, sources have told Football Insider.
The 21-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best young players in Europe following years of development in France.
Cherki and Lyon have confirmed the star winger will depart for pastures new this summer.
Man United are weighing up a potential move for the France Under-23 international but will face stiff competition from European giants Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
Man United could battle Bayern Munich and PSG for Cherki
Cherki enjoyed his best season in a Lyon shirt in the 2024-25 campaign after making his senior debut in 2019.
He made 44 appearances across all competitions this term, notching 12 goals and 20 assists.

The Lyon-born star scored home and away in the Europa League quarter-final tie against Man United, as Ruben Amorim‘s side emerged 7-6 winners after extra time in the second leg.
Cherki’s Lyon deal is only set to run until June 2026.
The winger, who won a silver medal with France on home soil at last year’s (2024) Olympic Games, is adept with both feet and can play on both flanks – as well as in attacking midfield.

Man United in pole position to win striker race
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed that Man United are in pole position to land Ipswich Town star Liam Delap ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have jumped ahead of their rivals, such as Everton and Chelsea, in the race to land the 22-year-old.
Delap can leave Ipswich via a relegation release clause of just £30million when the transfer window opens next month.
