Jadon Sancho: Man United plan to accept ‘reasonable offer’
Man United fully intend to sell Jadon Sancho this summer irrespective of Erik ten Hag’s future as manager, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed that the Premier League giants will sanction a permanent departure for the Borussia Dortmund loanee, 23, even if there is a change of manager in the coming months.
Ten Hag’s future as manager is up in the air on the back of an underwhelming season and there is a growing sense that new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe will appoint a replacement in the summer.
Nevertheless, there is no way back for Sancho at his parent club, where he had a very public falling-out with Ten Hag before joining Dortmund on loan in January.
A senior United source has told Football Insider that Man United will have to sell assets to fund new arrivals, meaning Sancho will be one of the many stars up for sale.
The club will accept a “reasonable offer” for the wide man and accept they have no hope of recouping anywhere near the fee paid in 2021.
Man United make up their minds on Jadon Sancho
He is such a huge earner at United that Dortmund are paying only around 40 per cent – £100,000-a-week – of his £250,000-a-week salary while he is on loan.
He moved to United from Dortmund in the summer of 2021 for a reported £73million, but failed to make a significant impact across his two-and-a-half years at Old Trafford.
Dortmund’s deal to get Sancho temporarily did not include an option to buy, meaning Ten Hag’s side are expected to listen to offers from other clubs should interest arise.
Sancho’s contract with United runs until 2026.

Across 82 appearances in all competitions, Sancho scored 12 goals and provided six assists for the Red Devils.
Since his return to Germany, he has yet to score but has provided two assists in eight outings and has started six of the club’s nine Bundesliga and Champions League fixtures.
