‘Man United set criteria for Antony sale, huge loss pending’
Antony is likely to leave Manchester United this summer, with the Red Devils set to make a sizeable loss on their big-money signing.
The Brazilian arrived from Ajax for £81.3million in the summer of 2022, but the move has been a complete disaster for all involved.
In his two and a half seasons at the club, the winger managed just five Premier League goals, and was loaned out to Real Betis in January of this year.
Antony has been a revelation in his loan spell away from Man United, especially in Europe, managing seven goal contributions in eight games to help Betis to the Conference League final.

Antony price-tag revealed
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider (29 April) that Antony is among five players that Man United are considering selling in the summer.
The former Ajax man could follow Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Andre Onana, and Casemiro out the door, as the Red Devils aim to improve their financial situation.
According to Manchester Evening News (22 May) Chief Football Correspondent Samuel Luckhurst, Antony will be available for £32.5m this summer.
Luckhurst added that United have no intention of keeping the Brazilian, despite his current form out on loan, and the fact that his contract doesn’t run out until 2027.

Man United’s recruitment fails again
Football Insider Verdict
If the price tag is met, and Antony departs for just over £30m this summer, United will have lost a staggering £50m on the winger in just three years.
This is not an irregularity either, there is a theme developing where the Red Devils will bring in a player for big money, and make a huge loss on them just a few seasons later.
Sancho and Mason Mount have both flopped massively, while Rasmus Hojlund is set to leave Man United this summer, just two years after the club spent £72m on him.

To make matters worse, it is often the case that these players magically find form again after departing Old Trafford, and return to the level that caught the interest of the United recruitment team in the first place.
Eventually, someone near the top of the Man United food chain needs to realise that spending absurd amounts of money on new signings doesn’t automatically translate to success.
