‘Man United set for Dusan Vlahovic decision as striker search heats up’

Manchester United could be set to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as Ruben Amorim steps up his search for a striker.

Amorim has been keen to link back up with Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, but the Swedish international prefers a move to Arsenal.

United have also been unsuccessful in their attempts so far of landing Bryan Mbeumo, as Brentford have rejected two offers for the forward.

Their only success in the market has been the acquisition of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, and any further deals may depend on outgoings.

Amorim wants to sell attacking trio Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho, but wages and transfer fees are currently a stumbling block.

Sancho is not wanted at United.

Amorim offered Vlahovic as part of Sancho deal

According to Fabrizio Romano United have been offered three players from Juventus in exchange for Sancho.

The Italian club are willing to offer Douglas Luiz, Dusan Vlahovic, and Timothy Weah as part of a deal.

Juventus though, like many over clubs, are reluctant to offer Sancho his full wage package of £250,000 a week.

If Juventus and Sancho could agree wage demands then United would be getting the better deal, and they would be letting go of a player who has no future at Old Trafford.

Juve trio could speed up United overhaul

With United struggling to sign Gyokeres and Mbeumo, Amorim needs to have another plan.

Moise Kean was linked with a move, but Vlahovic would be seen as a greater statement of intent from United to solve their goalscoring issues.

The 25-year-old has scored 130 goals in 302 career appearances for Partizan, Fiorentina and Juventus.

Vlahovic’s Juve record last season

At 6ft 3in and with a strong physical presence, Vlahovic is a similar build to Gyokeres, so Amorim would be signing a player with similar attributes.

Vlahovic would be a welcome addition up-front as a natural number nine and could force either Rasmus Hojlund or Joshua Zirkzee to leave the club.

Luiz and Weah could also be handy assets for Amorim.

The Portuguese manager wants to overhaul his squad so being given a player of Premier League experience in Luiz and Weah, who could play as a wing-back, could help fasten up the process.

Luiz starred for Aston Villa winning Supporters Player and Players Player of the Year whilst at the club.

The Brazilian could add much needed creativity from deep, another area Amorim needs to address.
