Finance guru: Man United in line for ‘money and success’ after Carrington news
The planned revamp of the facilities at Carrington is long overdue and will generate “money and success” for Man United.
That is the view of finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Glazers’ ambitious infrastructure plans.
The Daily Mail reported last Thursday (23 December) that United are set to hire a planner to mastermind the expansion of Old Trafford.

It is also understood that the club have already appointed an overseer to turn Carrington into one of the world’s leading training facilities.
Plumley claims that it is positive to see the Glazers move away from the short-termism that critics say has characterised their reign.
“It’s a long-term investment,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“In many ways, they are trying to eke out the most of the playing squad as they can by delivering the best facilities.
“The performance side leads to better on-pitch results, and money and success follow.
“Everyone is trying to keep up. If you haven’t updated your training facilities in a while, at some point you have to make that move.
“The clubs are working on very fine margins. Every little bonus the club can get, they have to go for it. United are in a position to afford that.
“Alongside the revamp of Old Trafford, this is probably long overdue.”

Plans to improve Old Trafford will boost capacity from 74,140 to beyond 80,000.
The Carrington revamp meanwhile will transform the training complex into a fully-integrated facility for the men’s women’s and academy sides.
