‘Man United set to hand Marcus Rashford £20m pay-off for Aston Villa transfer’
Man United could be set for a financial blow even if Marcus Rashford joins Aston Villa permanently in the summer, the Daily Mail have reported.
The attacker made the move to Villa Park late in this season’s winter transfer window, signing on a loan deal until the end of the season.
That came after he had been exiled at Old Trafford, with Rashford having fallen out with Man United manager Ruben Amorim.
Since joining Unai Emery’s side the England international has impressed with his performances, with Aston Villa fans demanding they sign Rashford permanently in the summer transfer window.
Even if that does happen though, it appears as though Man United could find themselves out of pocket.

Man United face financial setback with Marcus Rashford sale
According to this latest update from the Daily Mail, the Red Devils face missing out on up to half of the £40million they would receive if Aston Villa trigger their option to buy Rashford at the end of the season.
It is thought that other clubs would also have to pay a similar price to that option if they are to sign the 27-year-old permanently when the window reopens.

However, neither Aston Villa nor any other club are expected to be able to afford the £315,000 per week wages he is currently on at Old Trafford.
Villa themselves are said to currently be paying a minimum 75% of that salary, and if Rashford was to be sold in the summer, Man United would have to pay him off for other clubs to afford his salary.
With three years remaining on the attacker’s contract, it is believed that could cost them as much as £20million, which is of course half of the fee they would receive from the sale of the England international.

Ruben Amorim will be concerned over fresh Marcus Rashford claims
Football Insider Verdict
Amid what has been another dismal season on the pitch at Old Trafford, it is clear that a significant squad overhaul is going to be needed.
But after plans for a new stadium to were announced by the club, there have already been suggestions Man United will have to reduce their investment in their squad.
As a result, any money the Red Devils can be raised may be vital both on and off the pitch, especially when considering the financial issues that have been hanging over the club.
With that in mind, that £20million they could miss out on if things play out in this way, will be another frustrating reminder of how messy things have got for Man United in recent years.
