Man United star Casemiro breaks social media silence after exit confirmed
Man United midfielder Casemiro has taken to social media to thank interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy for his time at the club.
The 32-year-old was arguably the best player for United in Van Nistelrooy’s four games at the club, scoring an impressive brace in their 5-2 League Cup win over Leicester earlier in the season.
Casemiro played a starring role in their 3-0 win over Leicester on Sunday (November 10), ending the game with an 89 per cent pass accuracy rate, five successful tackles, and 10 defensive actions.
United announced on Monday that Van Nistelrooy had been relieved of his duties by new manager Ruben Amorim, who decided not to keep the former striker at the club.
Assistant manager Rene Hake, goalkeeping coach Jelle ten Rouwelaar, and analyst Pieter Morel have also departed the club.
Casemiro aims sly dig at former Man United manager Erik ten Hag
Man United moved quickly to bring highly-regarded Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim to the club and the Portuguese is set to take charge of his first game against newly-promoted Ipswich Town after the international break.
Still, Van Nisterooy clearly had the support of the players during his short tenure, with Casemiro taking to Instagram to pay tribute to the Dutchman, something he failed to do for Ten Hag.

Ten Hag reportedly had a frosty relationship with several Man United players, notably shipping Jadon Sancho off to Borussia Dortmund and then Chelsea on loan after he refused to apologise for criticising the manager.
Man United players will no doubt be hoping they get a smoother ride under Amorim as they aim to finally get their season going.
