Man United star Lisandro Martinez ‘out for two months’ – fans are devastated
Man United defender Lisandro Martinez has been forced to withdraw from the Argentina squad due to injury.
The 26-year-old picked up a knock in their 3-0 Premier League win over Leicester on Sunday (November 10) but still managed to play the full 90 minutes.
After receiving the call-up and flying all the way to Argentina to meet up with the squad, he has been sent back to Manchester so the club can assess the extent.
Speaking ahead of Argentina’s World Cup qualifier with Paraguay on Thursday (November 14), manager Lionel Scaloni confirmed he would return to his club.
“We didn’t expect the case of Lisandro. We saw that he had suffered a blow to his back, but apparently, he had no problem, just pain.
“When he arrived here, the pain increased a bit, he underwent tests and is not fit to be here.”
