Man United star suffers devastating blow – ‘medical team are to blame’
Man United fans have been fuming at their medical team after they failed to treat Mathijs de Ligt’s head injury in the first half of their 2-1 win against Brentford.
The 25-year-old ended up with a cut head after colliding with Kevin Schade’s knee, and it became a persistent issue throughout the opening 45 minutes due to his bleeding.
The centre-back had to vacate the pitch three times to get fresh dressings, and during the third spell of treatment, Brentford found the back of the net at Old Trafford.
United fans were furious at both the official and the medical team as they were forced to defend a corner with 10 men, ultimately leading to Ethan Pinnock finding the back of the net.
It led to supporters questioning their own medical team for not sorting the issue or suggesting that he was taken off.
Erik ten Hag’s men managed to get back into the game in the second half as goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund led to them winning 2-1.
Man United fans feel their medical team are ‘useless’
United supporters labelled their medical team “useless” as others claimed it was “incompetence” from the medical department during the game.
