Man United stars Fernandes and Heaven react to Garnacho’s ‘until next time’ message

Alejandro Garnacho has taken to social media to send a new message amid speculation around his Man United future, prompting a response from teammates Bruno Fernandes and Ayden Heaven.

The winger looks as though he could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer, following a sour end to the season.

After the Argentine complained about his lack of game time in his side’s Europa League final defeat, Man United manager Ruben Amorim told Garnacho to “pray” he would find a new club this summer.

In the wake of those claims, there has been speculation of potential alternative destinations for the 20-year-old.

Alejandro Garnacho reflects on post-season break

There have been claims that Aston Villa should consider a move for Garnacho this summer, with Unai Emery’s side having taken Marcus Rashford on loan from Old Trafford last season.

Meanwhile, the player himself has seemingly been enjoying some time away from footballing matters amid all that uncertainty.

Garnacho had expressed his delight at the end of Man United’s post-season tour over the opportunity to head off on holiday.

On Friday (13 June), the winger opened up on that by posting a series of pictures from a trip to Japan, along with a caption in Japanese that when translated reads: “Until next time”.

In response, Heaven – who has enjoyed an impressive first few months with the Red Devils after a move from Arsenal – and club captain Fernandes both liked that post.

Man United need to move winger on

Football Insider Verdict

There is no question that Man United need to strengthen the squad available to Amorim this summer, to recover from a disastrous campaign.

They will want to sell players to raise funds for those incomings, and in the circumstances the Argentine is a prime candidate to be moved on.

With the contentious moments that Garnacho causes for Man United, there is some publicity around him they may want to avoid, especially when he does not show his talent enough on the pitch to compensate.

As a result, there is no doubt that the 22-year-old’s future will be one of the storylines to keep an eye on in the transfer window.
