‘Man United suffer £24m blow after deal collapses – they’re in turmoil’
Manchester United have been dealt a blow worth £24million after failing to find sponsorship.
The Red Devils agreed a three-year deal with Tezos in 2022, which saw the blockchain platform appear on their training kit.
However, that contract expired at the end of June, and United have been left without a sponsor ahead of the upcoming campaign.
At the start of the month (1 July), the Manchester club released their new training gear without the presence of a main sponsor on the front.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that companies are worried about associating themselves with Man United in their current state.

Man United are ‘damaging brands’
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that there are brand damage possibilities for companies who sponsor United currently.
Wyness added that United are now coming from a position of weakness when trying to find a new sponsor.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I’ve been in these positions before when I’ve been either without a sponsor, or with a sponsor and you’ve got to make a tough decision.
“Looking at the Man United situation, Tezos are rumoured to be paying about £24million a year for the training kit sponsorship. That’s a big number. That’s a big sponsorship. That’s more than most Premier League clubs would get for their front of shirt by far.
It’s a big number and now that’s gone. The question is then, should you have put a sponsor on your training kit? Should you have given it to another sponsor that you already have in there as part of their deal and give them a bonus or get them to do it at a lower level, just to keep that training kit sponsor alive and there?
“You’re now in a position of having to be out in the market, as Man United, with no sponsor. Everyone knows that you haven’t got one; your club is in turmoil.
“There are actually brand damage possibilities for sponsors getting involved with Man United right now, and that will not have escaped the sponsorship market, believe me.”

Man United race Everton to sign Ndidi
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed that Man United and Everton are in the race to sign Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi.
A host of clubs have been put on alert by his situation and are prepared to make a move as he is now expected to leave Leicester.
This comes after former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 3 July that Everton will reignite their interest in Ndidi this summer.
The Toffees missed out on a deal when he put pen to paper at the King Power Stadium last year, but now face growing competition for his signature.
