Man United suffer ‘big loss’ as Casemiro footage analysed – pundit
Frank McAvennie has insisted Casemiro will be a “big loss” for Man United when they face Arsenal on Sunday (22 January).
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said Casemiro has been an integral part of United’s recent success.
As shown on Sky Sports (19 January), the 30-year-old was shown a yellow card by referee Robert Jones during the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace following a sloppy challenge on Wilfried Zaha.
The booking means Casemiro will miss Sunday’s trip to the Emirates as the Red Devils attempt to close the gap on the league leaders.
The Brazilian has played 90 minutes for Erik ten Hag’s side in every game since 22 October and has scored two goals and provided two assists in that time.
McAvennie insisted Casemiro’s absence will be a problem for United.
“I was looking forward to him coming up against [Thomas] Partey,” he told Football Insider.
“The two of them were playing really well. No disrespect to [Scott] McTominay or Fred but they are not in the same league as those two. I am disappointed that is not going to happen.
“I think it is a big advantage for Arsenal. I think he is that important for them. He will be gutted because that is a big game he is going to miss. It will be a big loss definitely.“

United are currently third in the Premier League.
They are three points behind second place Man City and eight points behind league leaders Arsenal.
