Medical expert rubbishes Cristiano Ronaldo injury ‘claim’ after Man United update
Man United do not need to be overly concerned about Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury record.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Ronaldo, 37, has missed a handful of games to injury since he rejoined United in August last year.

Two of those absences were attributed to a hip flexor issue.
The all-time great was not in the matchday squad for the Red Devils’ final game of the season, the 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace last Sunday (22 May).
And Sky Sports reported that it was the Portuguese forward’s hip that ruled him out again.
But Dinnery insists that suggestions that Ronaldo may be becoming more injury-prone are wide of the mark.
“A couple of people have claimed this is a worry,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“He missed a handful of games in January and a handful of games in March. In terms of his availability in the Premier League, he is still above 80 per cent.
“The guy is 37 years of age. There are always going to be minor ailments and niggles along the way.
“If he is still able to perform the way he has done, there’s not a lot to worry about. It’s now time to rest up and focus on next season.“

Ronaldo’s 38 appearances this season have yielded 24 goals and three assists.
New United boss Erik ten Hag has signalled that he is part of his plans for 2022-23.
