Man United tipped to accept West Ham bid for Marcus Rashford

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Man United could accept a West Ham loan offer for Marcus Rashford if they can pay a suitable portion of his wages.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 67-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested United would rather see him go overseas but a move to London Stadium remains possible.

Rashford, 27, is widely expected to leave Old Trafford before the window closes on 3 February – with the likes of AC Milan, Napoli and PSG have all heavily linked with a move.

The BBC have also claimed (9 January) West Ham have expressed an interest in the England international.

He has not played for United since 7 December and has made clear his desire for a new challenge away from his boyhood club.

Man United would sanction Rashford to West Ham, says Wyness

Wyness claimed West Ham would not be willing to break their wage structure to bring Rashford in this month.

He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “It’s going to come down to what United will accept.

“I think United would consider loaning him to West Ham, depending on how they’re going to split the wages.

“There could be a problem with the wage structure. You couldn’t bring someone in on more than whatever Jarrod Bowen is on.

“It’s going to come down to whether they can jiggle it around.

“I can see United being willing to loan him to West Ham, because they probably don’t see them as a real competitor.

“United aren’t in the hunt for the major European places.

“They want him out of the club, but I think they’d rather see him go overseas if possible.”
