Man United tipped to complete new signing spree – Stefan Borson

Manchester United will have more money for new signings this summer despite already spending heavily on Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee.

That is the view of former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider he expects Man United to make several more sales over the coming weeks to boost their transfer kitty.

The Premier League giants signed forward Zirkzee from Bologna in a £36.5million deal, while teenage defender Yoro has made the £52.2million switch from Lille, potentially rising to £59million including add-ons.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is believed to be keen on moving several first-team players on this summer as he looks to stamp his authority on proceedings at Old Trafford.

Mason Greenwood has already joined Marseille in a £26.6million deal, while Willy Kambwala, Donny van de Beek and Alvaro Carreras have also been sold.

Man United could offload more homegrown players

Borson revealed selling homegrown players such as Greenwood in big-money deals will have a significant impact on Man United’s profit and sustainability (PSR) situation.

“United will have money to spend,” Borson told Football Insider.

“That’s largely because I expect there will be quite a few sales this summer.

“They have already done a couple and I suspect there will be a few more.

“There is talk about Scott McTominay and Fulham, and they have sold Greenwood to Marseille.

“When you are selling players with no book value because they were homegrown, we all know the impact that has on the profit and loss and how much easier that makes things.”
