Man United tipped to have opened 'background talks' with Pochettino over manager 'swap' - pundit
Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested Man United may already be in talks with Mauricio Pochettino to be their next manager.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed that could then open the door for Zinedine Zidane to become the new Paris Saint-Germain boss.
The Manchester Evening News reported today (November 24) Man United have had their initial approach for Pochettino knocked back by the French club.
The former Tottenham manager is in Manchester for PSG’s Champions League clash with Man City this evening.
“They need to find a manager that hasn’t got anything to do with the club,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer they will want to move away from that now.

“I think Pochettino would do a good job. He’s still got a lot to prove as a manager. He did well with Spurs but didn’t win anything.
“I don’t think he’s the very best option for Manchester United but it seems they are very keen on him.
“He might see the PSG job as lose-lose. I don’t think they are good enough to win the Champions League and he probably thinks he’s going to get sacked if he doesn’t win it with that squad of players. He’ll think he’ll get more time at Man United. It would suit both parties.
“Then Zidane can go to PSG. Maybe that’s what’s going on in the background now, they could be in talks in the background now over a little swap.”
