Man United tipped to rocket up the table after broadcaster's Erik ten Hag update - pundit

Man United could charge up the Premier League table over the final weeks of the season.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider amid the latest on the Red Devils’ hunt for a new manager.

On 6 April, ESPN reported Man United are “set to finalise the appointment” of Ajax boss Ten Hag, 52.

With this appointment reportedly close, Kenny claims Man United’s players will now start trying to impress their new manager.

However, if this does happen, he insists it is the sign of a bigger problem at the club.

“It looks like it’s going to be Ten Hag,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“As a player, you start to wonder, ‘is he watching the games?’. I think he will be.

“So, those players who have maybe underperformed this season, they will be looking to finish the season in good form.

“That can only be good for Man United. I don’t think they will get in the top four but if their best players start trying to impress this new manager then maybe they could nip into fifth.

“But if that does happen, why haven’t you been doing this all season?

“It would prove what everyone is saying about these players, they have attitude problems.

“We will have to see what happens but if Ten Hag gets announced I think performances will improve, put it that way.”

Ten Hag has been Ajax boss since December 2017.

He has won two league titles with the club.

In other news, one pundit has suggested Marcus Rashford has a “big problem” at Man United after a “baffling” update.
