‘Man United to accept cut-price Rasmus Hojlund offer’

Juventus are among a number of Italian clubs plotting a surprise move to sign Man United striker Rasmus Hojlund, according to their former chief scout.

Mick Brown, who spent over a decade at Old Trafford during the club’s most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that United are prepared to accept offers for the 22-year-old.

Juventus are among a number of Serie A clubs interested in bringing Hojlund back to Italy just two years after he left Atalanta in a £72million move.

As things stand, United are holding out for a £50million price tag and there are doubts about whether the Italian giants would be willing to match that price.

However, Ruben Amorim does not consider the striker to be part of his long-term plans after Brown told Football Insider Hojlund has no future at Man United.

There is now a growing feeling that they could be tempted to cut their losses and accept “good” offers below their lofty asking price.

Juventus scouts impressed by Man United star Rasmus Hojlund

Brown told Football Insider last month that Man United will accept offers for Hojlund as they want to raise funds to sign a new striker.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Ham, insisted that clubs have remained interested in the forward since his time in Italy.

There has been a lot of interest, especially from Italy,” he told Football Insider.

“These clubs have scouting him in the past, as Man United did, and they’ve seen something in him.

“Man United took the plunge and it’s never really happened for him here, but it hasn’t stopped the interest from some of the other clubs.

“They believe they can resurrect what they saw in him in the first place.

“Juventus I hear are one of those clubs, they like what they saw from him playing in Italy.

“It’s a deal that will only happen if the fee is right for them, and I’m not convinced it will be.

“It looks like United will hold out for £50million because of the amount they spent on him, and I’d be shocked if any team was willing to pay that.

“But it doesn’t look like he has much of a future here, so if a good offer comes in they may well take it.

Ruben Amorim eyes Bart Verbruggen deal after Onana latest

A number of first-team players have been linked with moves away from Man United this summer, but they also have their eyes set on incoming deals.

Brown told Football Insider that Man United want Brighton star Bart Verbruggen to replace Andre Onana amid growing concerns about the goalkeeper’s form.

The 22-year-old has been a long-term target at Old Trafford as scouts have been keeping an eye on the shot-stopper’s performances for Brighton and the Netherlands.

However, Brown told Football Insider in March that Brighton would demand a “massive” fee for Verbruggen and are extremely reluctant to let him leave the club.
