Man United to accept ‘small’ Christian Eriksen offer – sources
Christian Eriksen is likely to leave Man United this summer as the club’s mass exodus plans accelerate.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke explained that more players, including the midfielder, will have to leave Old Trafford this summer before United can proceed with their transfer plans.
Man United’s finances are tight due to concerns over profit and sustainability rules, so the club need to sell before they can buy.
Eriksen, 32, will be the latest player up for sale at United after Football Insider revealed that Jonny Evans, Anthony Martial and Tom Heaton have been told to find new clubs.
Christian Eriksen to leave Man United amid mass clearout
United brought Eriksen to Old Trafford on a free transfer in 2022 after a short-term spell with Brentford, with the Denmark midfielder going on to make 49 Premier League appearances.
As a result of his arrival on a free, United will be guaranteed to make a profit from any fee received for his sale this summer.
With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2025, Eriksen has just one year left on his deal, and the club will look to cash in early to avoid losing him for free. The club will accept a relatively small offer for the player.
Of his 21 Premier League appearances this season, Eriksen has started just 12 and has been focal in his displeasure at the lack of game time.

With several players likely to depart Old Trafford this summer as the club enters a new era, cutting the size and wage bill of the squad is seen as a priority.
Football Insider also revealed that Erik ten Hag is set to lose his job at the end of the season, causing further changes at Old Trafford.
