However, the 19-year-old’s representatives are reportedly seeking a wage increase to around £180,000 per week, which they believe reflects his growing status as a regular starter for England.
If United agree to these demands, he would become one of the club’s highest earners at such a young age.
Previously, it was revealed that Man United had no plans to sell Mainoo, despite interest from Chelsea, who have been monitoring his situation.
However, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson expressed surprise at Chelsea’s interest in Mainoo, given the abundance of midfield options available to Enzo Maresca when speaking to Football Insider.
