Man United told to ship Rashford off to 'Dubai' after training HQ reveal - pundit

Marcus Rashford is trying “too hard” at Man United and needs a “mental reset”, according to Danny Mills.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Man City and Leeds United right-back suggested Rashford should be given the weekend to get some sun.

The 24-year-old has not scored in any of his last nine appearances across all competitions for Man United.

The Telegraph reported yesterday (12 January) Rashford is spending up to 12 hours a day at Carrington to try and change his fortunes.

“Sometimes you can try too hard,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“I remember listening to Clive Allen talk about strikers and he said to stop practising because you can practice bad habits.

“Sometimes you need a bit of a mental reset or a change, a weekend. Go and give him a week off so he can get some sunshine. That’s down to man-management.

“Let him know that he’s loved then just say ‘Do yourself favour, go to Dubai or somewhere for a long weekend and get some sun’.

“I don’t think the off-field stuff has anything to do with it.

“He’s never really kicked on become the player we expected him to be. It’s always been a few games and then he tails off again.

“He’s never kicked onto that real top-class level of consistency.

“Man United are not playing well at the moment and he’s finding it hard.”

Rashford has scored 91 times and provided 57 assists in 286 games across all competitions for his boyhood club.

He is under contract at Old Trafford until the summer of 2023.
