Man United transfer news: Ten stars could leave for big-money fees

Man United are set for a major revamp in the summer transfer window, with plenty of movement expected in both directions.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe will want vast improvements in all areas under Erik ten Hag next season, and that will mean bringing in new star players to help the team move forward.

But to do that, the INEOS billionaire must remove the deadwood at Old Trafford, with a long list of Man United players now facing an uncertain future.

Based on information from senior recruitment sources, Football Insider analyses 10 Old Trafford stars who could leave for big-money fees of more than £10million in the upcoming transfer window.

Marcus Rashford (26)

Man United

Perhaps sitting top of the pile in terms of potential transfer value is academy graduate Rashford, who has endured another frustrating campaign in Manchester.

The 26-year-old is under contract until 2028, but could be moved on to free up transfer and wage funds, with sources telling Football Insider in February that Arsenal were eyeing a shock move for the attacker.

Antony (24)

Another attacker who could bring in plenty of money despite his struggles on the pitch is Antony, who has failed to impress ever since his high-profile switch from Ajax.

The 24-year-old could finally see his Old Trafford nightmare come to an end this summer, but sources have told Football Insider that the Red Devils will have to accept a £40million loss on the winger if they decide to sell him.

Casemiro (32)

Man United

Injuries have perhaps stopped former Real Madrid star Casemiro from truly living up to his reputation in Spain, but the midfielder has certainly stepped up on occasion.

He could, however, see his contract in Manchester brought to an abrupt end, with sources telling Football Insider last month that the club are ready to sell the player as he is unsuited to the Red Devils.

Christian Eriksen (32)

Another 32-year-old midfielder that Man United are ready to let leave this summer is Eriksen, sources have told Football Insider.

The Dane is unhappy at Old Trafford after falling down the pecking order under Ten Hag, with an exit now likely given how his deal will expire next summer.

Donny van de Beek (27)

Like Antony, Van de Beek arrived in Manchester from Dutch giants Ajax with huge excitement, but again he has failed to live up to the bill.

Two loans later at Everton and Eintracht Frankfurt, the 27-year-old will not play for Man United again, despite having a contract until 2025, sources have told Football Insider.

Hannibal Mejbri (21)

Another loanee who looks set for a summer transfer window exit is Mejbri, with sources telling Football Insider that he is deemed surplus to requirements.

The 21-year-old certainly hasn’t set La Liga alight on his current loan spell at Sevilla, where he has made just four appearances.

Jadon Sancho (24)

Man United, Jadon Sancho

One of the most frustrating players of the Ten Hag era so far, Sancho has massively struggled during his time in red.

The 24-year-old winger is currently thriving on loan at former club Borussia Dortmund, with sources telling Football Insider that the Red Devils fully intend to sell Sancho permanently this summer.

Facundo Pellistri (22)

Granada loanee Pellistri is yet another Man United attacker who is facing a summer exit, with Football Insider revealing in February that his parent club are ready to accept a permanent offer.

The 22-year-old winger, who has 24 senior appearances to his name, is contracted at Old Trafford until 2025.

Scott McTominay (27)

Back to permanent players, and one who like Pellistri has a contract until the summer of 2025 is midfield ace McTominay, who has impressed when given the opportunity by Ten Hag.

But the 27-year-old could force through a summer exit for more regular playing time, particularly given his Scotland ambitions, with West Ham having been keen on his signature last August.

Bruno Fernandes (29)

Another midfielder who could make a shock exit having also attracted interest from further afield is captain fantastic Fernandes, with Saudi giants Al-Hilal big admirers of the Portuguese star.

The 29-year-old is, however, happy at Old Trafford, which will come as a major relief to the Man United faithful, although worry will creep in given the Saudi Pro League club are preparing a “huge offer” ahead of the summer window.
