Man United will have major regret after what ‘magnificent’ target did in Champions League
Manchester United watched on as one of their summer transfer targets helped to down Liverpool in the Champions League for Galatasaray.
Galatasaray beat Liverpool 1-0 on a night when the Premier League champions failed to impress away in Turkey.
Arne Slot’s Liverpool tactics were questioned after Jeremie Frimpong and Dominik Szoboszlai both played out of position in Istanbul.
Ibrahima Konate was hounded by fans for his performance, but the Frenchman wasn’t the only poor performer for Liverpool.

Victor Osimhen shows Manchester United what they could’ve had
On the other side, Galatasaray played tremendously, outrunning Liverpool throughout the affair, and their effort paid off with the result.
One of Galatasaray’s best performers was Manchester United summer transfer target Victor Osimhen, who extended an impressive goalscoring streak.

Osimhen’s penalty marked his sixth goal in six games against English sides, across spells at Galatasaray, Napoli and Lille.
Osimhen has scored two Champions League goals against English clubs and netted four against English sides in the Europa League.
Manchester United had the chance to sign Victor Osimhen
Osimhen’s record will sting for Man United in particular after the club targeted the signing of Osimhen this summer.
Man United were reportedly given the green light to sign the ‘magnificent’ Osimhen for £64 million in the summer, but the Nigerian’s big wage demands stood in their way.
Osimhen scored 26 goals in 30 games at Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in 2024-25 before making the switch to Turkey permanent after United refused to sign the star.
Instead, the Red Devils opted to sign Benjamin Sesko, who opened his Premier League account in Man United’s 3-1 loss to Brentford, and can hope the Slovenian will start firing more consistently now.
