Man United’s chances of signing Carlos Baleba in January revealed
Manchester United will not be able to complete a deal to sign Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba in January, sources have told Football Insider.
This summer, Man United made contact with Brighton regarding Baleba, but were told in no uncertain terms that he was not for sale.
The Red Devils still hold an interest in the 21-year-old and are considering accelerating their interest when the transfer window reopens.
However, sources say that the Seagulls are likely to slap a huge price tag on Baleba, which United wouldn’t be able to afford in January.

Man United to return for Carlos Baleba next summer
Despite having little to no chance of wrapping up a deal for Baleba in January, Man United may have more success if they return again next summer.
By then, the Cameroonian international will have just two years remaining on his contract at the AMEX, which may mean he is available for a more realistic price.
Baleba has started the season poorly for Brighton, being substituted before the 70th minute in all three of their Premier League games so far.
However, the powerful midfielder has proved his undoubted potential over the last 18 months, and it would be a surprise if his disappointing form continued.
Man United’s former midfielder set for new club

Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen is likely to join a new club soon having left Man United in July, sources have told Football Insider.
Eriksen has been training with Malmo in Sweden in a bid to keep up his fitness ahead of his next move as he remains keen to play at the highest level in Europe.
A number of Championship and Premier League clubs are believed to have been keeping an eye on his situation and are expected to act outside of the transfer window.
However, Eriksen turned down a move to Wrexham in July as he aims to continue his career in the top flight despite the Red Dragons’ ambitious plans for the future.
