Man United’s four-man signing plan revealed – sources
Man United are targeting reinforcements in four key areas after securing last-gasp Europa League qualification, sources have told Football Insider.
The Red Devils recorded a shock 2-1 victory over Man City in the FA Cup final on Saturday (25 May) to add European football to their schedule in the 2024-25 campaign.
As such, several thin areas of the Man United squad are now being reviewed by club chiefs as they kick off transfer plans for the summer window.
Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial are among the players set to depart at the end of their contracts next month, while Casemiro is set to lead a number of high-profile sales at Old Trafford.
Sources say United are bracing for a wave of new signings – with reinforcements at centre-back, full-back, central midfield and centre-forward currently being prioritised.

Martial’s exit means Rasmus Hojlund is set to become the only senior out-and-out striker, while full-back has been a problematic area for Erik ten Hag throughout the 2023-24 campaign.
Injuries decimated United this term and contributed to their lowest-ever Premier League finish of eighth with the Red Devils picking up just 60 points from 38 games.

Nevertheless, the Old Trafford club will play in the league phase of next season’s Europa League – adding at least eight games to their schedule.
Man United are expected to have money to spend in the off-season after investment from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS earlier this year.
