Man United’s new stance on sacking Erik ten Hag revealed – sources

Man United are wary about sacking manager Erik ten Hag this summer as multiple elite clubs search for new bosses, sources have told Football Insider.

The decision on the 54-year-old comes ahead of an expected major managerial merry-go-round at the end of the current season.

Juventus have now joined fellow top clubs Liverpool, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Napoli in searching for a new boss.

According to journalist Sebastiano Sarno (7 April), Juventus have informed Massimiliano Allegri that they are in contact with other coaches about the manager position in Turin.

Man United wary about Ten Hag decision at OId Trafford

Man United could find that there are no top options available, meaning they may need to stick with Ten Hag until the end of his contract in June 2025.

Football Insider revealed in February that the current man in the dugout is not viewed as a long-term Man United manager, with questions about that long-term future remaining.

The Manchester outfit currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League table, and are into the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Sources told Football Insider earlier this month that the Red Devils are big admirers of Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna, who is emerging as a strong contender to be their next manager.

The Tractor Boys are currently on course for promotion to the Premier League, sitting second in the Championship table.

Ten Hag, who was announced as Man United manager on a three-year deal in April 2022, has a 60% winning record at the Red Devils, with 63 wins, 13 draws and 29 losses from his 105 matches so far.
