Man United’s next manager: Van Nistelrooy, Southgate, Tuchel, McKenna odds
Ruud van Nistelrooy is the bookmakers’ favourite to replace Erik ten Hag as Man United manager.
With just two wins from their opening six Premier League games, Ten Hag, 54, faces an uphill battle to turn things around at the 20-time Premier League champions.
According to Sky Bet, Van Nistelrooy is the favourite at 2/1 to be the club’s next manager after returning to the club in a coaching role during the summer.
Next up is former England boss Gareth Southgate at 5/2, closely followed by Thomas Tuchel, the coach Man United reportedly spoke to before deciding to stick with Ten Hag, at 6/1.
In fourth is former Man United coach and current Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna at 9/1 with Roberto de Zerbi at 14/1.
Brentford’s Thomas Frank is at 16/1 and Graham Potter, Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino, and Zinedine Zidane are all at 20/1.
Erik ten Hag under serious pressure at Man United
The Dutchman clung to his job by the skin of his teeth thanks to an impressive 2-1 FA Cup final win against local rivals Man City at the end of last season.
United have since dedicated vast amounts of money to build a more modern structure around the coach and bring in players he believes will improve the side.
Dan Ashworth was appointed as the club’s Sporting Director after a drawn-out battle with Newcastle United and Jason Wilcox was signed as a crucial member of their revamped recruitment set-up.

After spending a combined £60million on Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, who have previously played under Ten Hag, they have failed to live up to the hype.
They next face a difficult Champions League away tie against Portuguese giants Porto in what could be a pivotal game as Ten Hag fights for his job.
