Man United’s top January transfer target revealed
Manchester United are desperate to sign a defensive midfielder in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The Red Devils wanted to add some quality in the middle of the park during the summer, but were unable to get a deal across the line.
Sources say that Man United are looking for a powerful and athletic player to give their midfield a new lease of life.
Ruben Amorim is currently utilising a duo of Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro in the centre, but feels it is an area that can be improved upon when the transfer window reopens.

Man United will look elsewhere after Carlos Baleba update
In the latter stages of the summer window, Man United enquired about the availability of Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba.
The 21-year-old has impressed over the last 18 months and is building a reputation as a strong and dominant player with a plethora of technical skills.
However, Football Insider revealed on Monday (8 September) that Man United will be unable to sign Baleba in January, as Brighton will set his price tag too high.
The Seagulls are likely to demand upwards of £100million for the Cameroonian, which would mean the Red Devils will have to look elsewhere to fill their defensive midfield void.
Man United have Andre Onana plan for when loan ends
Meanwhile, Man United are hoping that Andre Onana can perform on loan at Trabzonspor so they can sell him off for a sizeable fee next summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Onana is set to complete his temporary move to Turkey imminently, as he looks to revitalise his career away from Old Trafford.
After being unimpressed with recent performances by the Cameroonian international and Altay Bayindir, Man United confirmed the deadline day signing of Senne Lammens.
Sources say that after the addition of Lammens, there is effectively no way back for Onana at United despite his contract running until 2028.
