Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare has confirmed that his side will be without first choice centre-backs Wes Morgan and Robert Huth for Thursday evening’s clash against Tottenham.
The Foxes are currently preparing to host Spurs at the King Power stadium for an encounter which will see second take on 11th.
Tottenham are currently suffering their own injury problems at the back and Danny Rose, Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier have all also been ruled out of the fixture.
But, Leicester’s injuries could hit harder with the core of their back four being ruled out by boss Shakespeare.
“Unfortunately, we’ve still got a few injuries. Wes [Morgan] won’t be okay and we’ve still got Robert Huth out. Danny Drinkwater, Papy Mendy and now Andy King joins the long list,” told Shakespeare to the official Leicester website.
“We won’t be doing a lot of training next few days. We’ll be doing enough to make sure we are competitive in these two home games. The injuries have caught up with us but there’s two games left and other people will get their opportunity.”
Both Huth and Morgan impressed in the Leicester defence last season as they helped their side to a surprise Premier League title.
They have brought their form into this season with the experienced Huth playing in 33 of their 36 Premier League matches, while captain Morgan has played 27 times in England’s top-flight.
Tottenham will now surely fancy their chances against the Foxes on Thursday with their defence struggling with injuries and they will be hoping star forwards Harry Kane and Dele Alli can find themselves onto the score sheet as they look to finish with as many points as possible.
