Manchester City fans react on Twitter to Champions League draw
By Emma Sanders
Manchester City fans reacted with relief on Twitter when it was revealed they will play Monaco in the first knock-out clash of the Champions League.
Pep Guardiola’ side will take on the French Ligue 1 outfit in the last 16.
City finished second in their Group C group, six points behind leaders Barcelona who are one of the favourites to win the competition.

The Sky Blues overcame competition from Borussia Munchengladbach and Celtic but will now face the winners of Group E who emerged as leaders in a group which included Premier League rivals, Tottenham.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side did not make it through to the last 16 after they suffered 2-1 defeat against Monaco and the French team also finished one point above Bayer Leverkusen.

City drew 1-1 in their last Champions League group stage fixture against Celtic but will be hoping to produce a much better performance against Monaco in the last 16 knock-out game.
Monaco’s last game ended in a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Leverkusen but they also recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory against CSKA Moscow and the win against Spurs.
Manchester City were impressive in the 3-1 victory against Barcelona last month in the competition but a recent dip in domestic form will make it an interesting encounter.
Fans are still fairly confident of victory though.
