Manchester City’s on-loan defender Pablo Mari is set to leave the club in January, according to a report.

The Daily Mail are reporting that the 24-year-old has been watched by unnamed Premier League clubs, with a move set to be made in the next transfer window.

Mari is currently playing for NAC Breda in the Eredivisie, and spent last season on loan at Girona.

He was signed by City from Gimnastic de Tarragona in 2016, but he hasn’t played a single minute of first team football for the Citizens.

The player is currently out injured with an ankle injury but is set to make his return for Breda against Ajax this weekend.

Football Insider verdict: It seems inevitable that Mari will be allowed to leave Manchester City, either in January or in the summer transfer window. The fact that he hasn’t played a single game for City shows how far down the pecking order the player is. It would be the best for his career and for City if he departed the club as soon as possible.
