Manchester City’s Jack Grealish reacts to Ruben Dias’ ‘special’ message

Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish is looking to reignite his career with interest from Premier League club’s in his services.

Grealish has fallen out of favour at Man City, with the 29-year-old not part of Pep Guardiola’s Club World Cup squad.

The midfielder joined City in a £100million deal from Aston Villa in 2021, but is now expected to leave the club after winning three Premier League titles and a Champions League crown among other accolades.

As revealed exclusively by Football Insider, Grealish’s expected move away from Man City may not happen until later in the window with Everton, Newcastle and Italian club Napoli exploring a possible move.

Dias recharges after ‘difficult’ City season

Man City defender Ruben Dias has been enjoying his post-season break as shown by multiple pictures he shared on his Instagram account.

Dias captioned the post: “Something special,” which was liked by team mates Grealish, Jeremy Doku and Nathan Ake.

The Portugal international has become a consistent presence in City’s back four, but he was unable to help City to a fifth successive Premier League success last season as Liverpool won the title off Guardiola’s side.

The 28-year-old started two games at the Club World Cup, but City were stunned in the last 16 by Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal.

Man City and Grealish may face key stumbling block

Football Insider Verdict

Grealish’s career has stalled over the past season at City, with Guardiola prioritising other options over the midfielder in his starting line-up’s.

The summer arrival of Rayan Cherki will only increase competition across City’s front line, with the 21-year-old showing bags of potential in his time at Lyon.

Grealish only started seven Premier League games last season and with the World Cup next summer, he will require regular playing time if he is to break into Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.

Grealish played a key role under Gareth Southgate at Euro 2020 from the bench and he could provide a similar impact for Tuchel if called upon.

Newcastle are one of the club’s which have expressed interest in Grealish and with the potential departure of Alexander Isak, the Toon would be able to afford City’s asking price for the 29-year-old.

Wage demands may be the stumbling block for Grealish to pursue a move away from City.
