Manchester United blow as attacker set for lengthy spell on sidelines

Adnan Januzaj is likely to be sidelined for weeks after suffering a hamstring injury while playing for Manchester United Under-21s on Monday night.

The 20-year-old playmaker broke down early on in the match against Norwich at Old Trafford, which United won 7-0 with striker Will Keane scoring a remarkable five goals.

Januzaj received treatment before returning to the action but he was in too much pain and was replaced shortly afterwards  clutching the back of his thigh.

The Belgium international, who returned to the club in January after his disastrous loan spell at Borussia Dortmund was cut short, will be assessed on Tuesday by United’s medical team but is unlikely to play until next month.

United put out a strong team for the second-string clash, with Memphis Depay, fit-again Phil Jones, Sergio Romero, Guillermo Varela, Andreas Pereira and Paddy McNair also in the starting XI.
