‘Man United to step up Calvert-Lewin pursuit, bargain deal in the offing’
Manchester United could sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer this summer as Ruben Amorim looks to reshape his forward line.
Football Insider have revealed that Everton are resigned to losing Calvert-Lewin this summer, when his contract with the Merseyside outfit expires.
The 11-cap England international notched three goals in 26 Premier League outings this term, having suffered a hamstring injury.
He has managed a total of 71 goals in 273 Everton appearances, while his best season arrived in 2020/21, when he scored 21 goals in 39 outings across all competitions.

Man United join race for Calvert-Lewin as Amorim eyes bargain swoop
The striker’s last goal for the Toffees came in a 3-2 victory over Tottenham at Goodison Park on 19 January.
As reported by Tottenham News, Spurs are closely monitoring Calvert-Lewin, while Man United are also in the race alongside the likes of Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, and West Ham United.
While the Toffees forward does not notch the kind of prolific numbers the Red Devils may want from a summer acquisition, his exceptional aerial ability and notable physicality could make him an attractive option for the Old Trafford club.
Furthermore, there is little financial risk attached to Calvert-Lewin’s signature, as he is available on a free transfer.

Calvert-Lewin’s arrival could pave the way for Rasmus Hojlund’s Man United exit
Despite suffering a hamstring injury, Calvert-Lewin scored just one fewer Premier League goal than Amorim’s current first-choice striker, Rasmus Hojlund, this term.

The 22-year-old’s move from Serie A outfit Atalanta to the English top flight back in 2023 has not proven to be a success, whereas the Everton man could bring plenty of Premier League experience to Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Hojlund has attracted interest from Napoli, which could tempt the North West side into cashing in on his services this summer, as Amorim strives to build a new-look forward line ahead of next term.
But the Red Devils faithful will hope that the potential acquisition is far from their side’s most high-profile new striker, as Man United eye Viktor Gyokeres.
Gyokeres has enjoyed a remarkable campaign with Sporting, notching 54 goals and 12 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions, and could revolutionise Amorim’s forward options.
Calvert-Lewin, meanwhile, may prove to be an ideal back-up option and could offer tutelage to young strikers such as Chido Obi-Martin.
