Man United fans react on Twitter to Emre Can's worldie for Liverpool against Watford

Emre Can scored a goal of the season contender for Liverpool in their 1-0 Premier League win against Watford on Monday night – and even Manchester United fans were blown away.

Can broke the deadlock on the verge of half-time at Vicarage Road with a stunningly executed bicycle kick that was jaw-dropping and audacious in equal measure.

The German midfielder has been criticised at times by Liverpool fans this season but they were unanimous in their appreciation of a piece of sensational skill.

It was the only goal in the game as Liverpool stayed on course for a top-four finish by securing the three points that strengthened their hold on third place.

It means that Jurgen Klopp’s side are now four points clear of United, who drew 1-1 against Swansea at Old Trafford on Sunday.

United fans were impressed by Can’s strike but many claimed it was not in the class of Wayne Rooney’s memorable bicycle kick in the Manchester derby seven years ago.

Liverpool’s win sent them three points clear of fourth-placed Manchester City, who drew 2-2 against Middlesbrough on Sunday.
