Manchester United fans react on Twitter to Ibrahimovic display v Southampton

By Matt Farr

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the hero for Manchester United as they lifted the EFL Cup at the expense of Southampton on Sunday – and fans were thrilled with his display.

The 35-year-old has shown time and time again at Old Trafford this season that he still has the qualities to perform at the top level, and his brace earned his side the first domestic title of the season.

Ibrahimovic opened the scoring for Manchester United with a superbly-taken free-kick at the 20-minute mark, but faded as United were pushed on the back-foot.

Jesse Lingard added a second for United, but a brace from Manolo Gabbiadini either side of half-time drew the scores level.

However, with the game almost destined to go to extra-time, the former Sweden international provided the goods once more with his 87th-minute header.
