‘Man United set cut-price fee as Rasmus Hojlund future is decided’

Manchester United have made their decision on whether to keep or sell striker Rasmus Hojlund this summer.

The Denmark international has struggled in the Premier League this term, scoring just four goals in 31 top-flight appearances.

Hojlund has been unable to help turn matters around for a Red Devils outfit who could finish 17th if they fail to beat Aston Villa on Sunday, 25 May.

The forward has enjoyed more success in the Europa League, where he has scored six goals in 15 appearances, but he was unable to get himself on the scoresheet when Ruben Amorim’s men were beaten in the final by Tottenham.

Man United are willing to sell Hojlund this summer

The 22-year-old’s last goal for the Old Trafford giants came on 8 May, when he scored in a Europa League semi-final triumph over Athletic Bilbao.

According to the Daily Mail [23 May], Amorim’s side are willing to listen to offers of £25-30million for Hojlund’s services this summer amid interest from Serie A duo Inter and Napoli.

Man United could lose race for potential Hojlund replacement

Even though Hojlund’s move to Man United in 2023 has not proven to be a success, the Old Trafford outfit will have to replace him this summer if they do part company with the 22-year-old.

Losing the Dane’s services would leave Amorim with only Joshua Zirkzee and the inexperienced Chido-Obi Martin at his disposal in terms of forward options.

Therefore, the Red Devils boss will have to utilise the summer transfer market to source a suitable upgrade for Hojlund.

With that in mind, the 20-time top-flight champions have set their sights on a move for Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap, who has proven his worth for the Tractor Boys even though Kieran McKenna’s men are set for an immediate Championship return.

However, Man United could lose out to Chelsea in the race for Delap’s signature, courtesy of the fact that the England Under-21 international played under Enzo Maresca in his Manchester City days and suits the Stamford Bridge club’s recruitment model.
