Manchester United are ready to bid £20million for CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa, Football Insider sources understand.
The Premier League giants are prepared to blow rivals Leicester out of the water to land the 23-year-old in a stunning late January raid.
Claudio Ranieri’s team have already had a £15million offer for Musa rejected by CSKA, who value the forward at the £20million mark.
That will not put off United, who are keen to recruit a goalscorer as they step up plans to strengthen their squad in the final days of the window.
They have expressed an interest in Musa and are weighing up an offer to secure the 23-year-old.
Musa, who can lead the attack and also play on the flanks, has scored 10 goals in 29 games this season in Russia, four of which have come in the Champions League.
Despite his relative youth, he has also accrued 54 caps for Nigeria, scoring 11 goals.
