Marc Cucurella could hand in transfer request after journalist’s Man City update – Campbell
Kevin Campbell suspects Brighton defender Marc Cucurella will hand in a transfer request to try and force through a move to Man City.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said the 24-year-old “is worth” the £50million price tag the Seagulls have put on his name.
City are in the market for a new left-back after selling Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal.

The Premier League champions have agreed personal terms with Cucurella but saw their opening £30million bid for the player turned down.
According to Fabrizio Romano (21 July), the ex-Barcelona full-back is unhappy with the situation and is desperate to play for Pep Guardiola’s side.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Campbell said: “Brighton might say the only way we will let you go is if you put a transfer request in.
“That is what happens. When you put a transfer request in the club is likely to negotiate.
“Brighton will want top dollar though. City probably don’t want to pay £50million. They will try to negotiate that down because Brighton got him for cheap.

“Pep knows him from when he was at Barcelona as a kid. He did very well at Getafe and was equally brilliant in his first season in the Premier League. He is a high energy play who can do it at both ends of the pitch.
“I think he is worth £50million. City should pay it.”
In other news, Phil Foden has been cited by a pundit after journalist’s Man City 19-year-old bid update.
