Chelsea returned to the top four in the Premier League table after an emphatic victory against Southampton – and Marc Cucurella delivered a dazzling personal display.
Enzo Maresca’s men defeated the Saints 4-0 after goals from Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, Levi Colwill, and Cucurella.
The Blues moved into fourth place with the victory as they overtook Man City to move into the Champions League positions.
The victory brought an end to Chelsea’s three-match run without a win in the Premier League as they got back on form.
Chelsea had only won three matches in their previous 12 performances in all competitions prior to this game, with the result being much needed for the club.
One player who wasn’t among the goals was Cole Palmer, and he has publicly apologised to Chelsea fans for his poor run of form.
Marc Cucurella had unbelievable Chelsea statistics against Southampton
Cucurella isn’t someone known for being among the goals, but the Spain international scored his third of the season in the Premier League against Southampton.
The 26-year-old celebrated his performance and the fact Chelsea were back on form with an Instagram message.

Cucurella at heart of Chelsea transformation
Not only did Cucurella score a rare goal at Stamford Bridge, but he also played an impact in the team picking up their first clean sheet since the goalless draw against Everton on 22 December.
The left back was voted the Player of the Match due to his performance both offensively and defensively, as he played a key contribution at both ends of the pitch.
Chelsea had gone nine Premier League games since their last clean sheet, with this being a significant step in the right direction for the team.
