Marc Cucurella sends two-word message to Chelsea fans pre-showdown
Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella was in high spirits on social media with a picture from the training ground.
Chelsea have enjoyed a strong start to the campaign, as Enzo Maresca’s side beat Fulham and West Ham, sitting second in the Premier League.
Cucurella has continued his form from last season, and he remains Maresca’s preferred left-back option, despite Chelsea signing Jorrel Hato in the summer.
His performances have been recognised by the club, as Chelsea are set to agree a new contract with Cucurella, even though his current deal ends in 2028.
While players have now returned from the international break, the defender gave fans a glimpse into preparations at Cobham with his latest social media message.

Marc Cucurella shared training update amid Brentford clash
The Spaniard posted a message for the supporters on Instagram with a heartfelt post to say “Back home” alongside a heart emoji.
The post featured images of the Spaniard in training at Cobham as the Blues prepare for their Premier League clash with Brentford on 13 September.

Cucurella delivered seven goals and four assists in all competitions last term, showing his attacking output while maintaining defensive reliability.
Maresca has continued to trust the defender into the new season, as he has started every single fixture so far.
The manager’s reliance on the Spaniard saw previous left-backs at the club push for exits, as Renato Veiga and Ben Chilwell left Chelsea on permanent deals in the summer after limited opportunities.
After 54 appearances last season, it remains to be seen whether the Chelsea boss will rotate more frequently this season, particularly after Hato’s arrival.
Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |

Chelsea keep tabs on Barcelona star Fermin Lopez
Meanwhile, despite the transfer window already being closed, the Blues continue to be linked to summer target Fermin Lopez.
Football Insider revealed on 9 September that Chelsea are continuing to monitor Barcelona’s Lopez despite having a deadline day move rejected.
Chelsea decided against signing Xavi Simons in the summer, who joined London rivals Tottenham instead, leaving the Blues to secure a loan move for Facundo Buonanotte.
Lopez, however, may prove a tougher signing to secure. It’s uncertain whether the Spaniard will want to leave his boyhood club Barcelona, where he has progressed through the academy ranks and into the senior side.
