Marc Guehi in Crystal Palace talks after Man United reveal – sources

Crystal Palace will demand a fee upwards of £70million to sell Marc Guehi this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Guehi’s value has rocketed after his impressive performance in helping England reach the Euro 2024 final.

The 23-year-old has two years remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park, with talks ongoing over a new deal despite strong interest in his signature.

Man United have been tipped to make a move for his signature ahead of Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite after struggling to agree a deal with the Toffees.

Sources say Palace remain in a strong position over Guehi’s sale and will demand a “huge” fee for his services after noting Everton’s £70million demand for Branthwaite.

Crystal Palace make ‘huge’ Marc Guehi demand amid Man United interest

Guehi joined Palace from Chelsea in 2021 in a deal worth £18million, and has gone on to make 111 appearances for the South London club.

In that time, he has led the club to an FA Cup semi-final in 2022 and a top-half finish last time out under new boss Oliver Glasner.

Last season, the centre-back made 29 appearances for the Eagles, but missed 13 games with a knee issue between February and May.

Gareth Southgate placed his trust in the defender to fill the Harry Maguire-shaped hole in this England team, starting all but one game and amazing fans with his displays.

Clubs across Europe have also taken note of his performances, with interest increasing with each England win, as Palace brace for official bids.

Alongside Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Real Madrid have also been credited with keeping an eye on his situation and could move to sign him later this summer.

However, Football Insider revealed that Palace remain desperate to keep him at Selhurst Park as part of Glasner’s squad, with high hopes for the upcoming season.
