Marc Guehi reacts to Eberechi Eze’s unexpected message amid Arsenal interest

Marc Guehi joined his Crystal Palace teammates in responding to Eberechi Eze’s latest update amid ongoing speculation about his future.

Eze has been one of Palace’s standout performers over recent seasons, cementing his place in the club’s history with his winning goal in the FA Cup final.

However, his success has sparked transfer interest, with Football Insider revealing that Arsenal are keen to pursue a move for Eze this summer.

The Gunners are reported to have enquired about the Englishman’s availability, aware of the £68 million release clause in his contract.

Although Tottenham have also shown interest in Eze, Arsenal appear well positioned to outpace their north London rivals in the race for his signature.

Amid the swirling rumours, Crystal Palace posted an update on their official account regarding Eze’s current status, aiming to clarify his whereabouts.

While speculation about Eze’s future continues, he is currently enjoying the off-season. The official Crystal Palace account shared a rather unexpected photo of Eze playing chess with English business tycoon Richard Branson.

The post was captioned: “Just Ebere Eze and Richard Branson playing chess, to which Guehi responded, “What a guy.”

Joel Ward, who officially left Crystal Palace at the end of the season, also showed his appreciation by liking the post.

On the pitch, Eze had a standout campaign at Selhurst Park, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions, helping the side finish in 12th place in the Premier League.

Football Insider recently reported that Palace are prepared to sell Eze this summer, but only if a club activates his £68 million release clause.

While Eze’s future remains uncertain, the Palace captain also appears close to leaving, as Football Insider revealed Liverpool are closing in on deal for Guehi, and are willing to pay up to £50m for him.

With Jarell Quansah’s recent move to Bayer Leverkusen being confirmed, the Reds are keen to secure a replacement for the defender.

It’s also reported that Guehi prefers a move to Liverpool over other options such as Tottenham or Newcastle. With only one year left on his contract, a transfer away from Selhurst Park seems increasingly likely.
