‘Marco Silva’s future at Fulham hinges on one thing amid Tottenham links’
Marco Silva has been heavily linked to Tottenham over the past few months and his future at Fulham remains in the balance.
Spurs had a dismal domestic season with Ange Postecoglou in charge, finishing a lowly 17th in the Premier League, collecting just 38 points.
However, Tottenham did beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final to secure their first piece of major silverware since 2008.
Despite European success, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Tottenham will sack Ange Postecoglou, with a formal announcement expected in the coming days.

Silva may get restless
With Postecoglou set to leave, Silva has been linked with Tottenham as the 59-year-old’s replacement in North London.
The former Everton and Watford manager has been at Fulham since 2021, and after guiding them to the Premier League, has continued progressing the club.
BBC Sport (2 June) Chief football news reporter Simon Stone reported that around March-time in the most recent campaign, Silva had believed that the Cottagers could get European football, either through the league or the FA Cup.
In the end, Fulham finished the season down in 11th, and were knocked out of the FA Cup at the quarter-final stage by Crystal Palace.
Stone added that Silva will want improvement, and if he doesn’t think he can get it at Craven Cottage, he will begin looking at other options.

Tottenham job a poisoned chalice
Football Insider Verdict
There is no doubt that the Tottenham job is a bigger role than the Fulham one, and perhaps a career progression, but there are certainly some negatives to the move.
Spurs’ last four managers have all had very impressive CVs, but when they came to North London, they failed to deliver.
Manager | Tenure |
Ange Postecoglou | 2023-Present |
Antonio Conte | 2021-2023 |
Nuno Espirito Santos | 2021 |
Jose Mourinho | 2019-2021 |
Postecoglou has obviously ended the trophy hoodoo, but it is hard to call his tenure a success when his side are finishing one place above the relegation zone in the Premier League.
If Silva was to take up the offer of becoming Tottenham manager, there is a very real possibility that he could be out of a job within a number of months.
The grass isn’t always greener, and if Fulham have a good transfer window, they can definitely challenge for European football next season.
