Marcos Senesi’s agent reveals transfer intentions as Everton and Newcastle race for Bournemouth deal
Marcos Senesi has already “formally said goodbye” to Bournemouth ahead of his contract expiring at the end of the season.
According to Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport, the centre-back has now made it clear to the Cherries’ hierarchy that he will be leaving on a free transfer when his deal reaches its conclusion.
The 28-year-old’s agents have already indicated to Bournemouth that their client wants a “different experience” next season, and it is understood that the South Coast outfit are now resigned to losing their star defender.
Senesi has attracted plenty of interest from elsewhere in the Premier League and beyond, and it now appears that his exit from the Vitality Stadium has become an inevitability.

‘Watch out’ for Newcastle and Everton in Marcos Senesi race
Senesi’s imminent availability on a free transfer has attracted interest from far beyond the Premier League, with sides in Italy also keen on the quality that he provides.
Napoli are among those in Serie A who are chasing the Argentine’s signature on a free transfer, and their sporting director Giovanni Manna has already identified him as an ideal summer target, according to Area Napoli.
However, there is an acknowledgment from the Italian giants that the Premier League interest is something that they must seriously “watch out” for.
Everton, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Tottenham are all keen to add Senesi to their ranks for next term, as Bournemouth look set to be raided for one of their key players once again.
All four sides will be hoping to propel themselves into the European picture next term, and Senesi has been outlined as a player who can help to achieve that aim after some impressive displays in 2025-26.

Senesi’s wage demands to provide a concern
The significant level of interest in Senesi is unsurprising given that he will be available on a free transfer in a matter of months, but a move for him will not come without its cost for any of the interested parties.
As can often be the case with a free transfer, the player and his entourage are holding out for a significant pay rise compared to his current wages, and it could potentially price out some of the suitors.
Senesi is understood to be keen to secure a yearly salary of around £3.5million, according to journalist Gianluca Vitale, which is thought to be around double what he currently earns at Bournemouth.
That equates to a weekly wage of around £67,000, and that is something that will have to be seriously considered by the likes of Everton and Newcastle as they race to secure his signature.
There may be no need to splash out on a transfer fee to get the deal done, but it will still take a significant financial commitment to land the defender.
