Marcus Rashford responds to Amadou Onana message as Man United exit looms

Marcus Rashford has responded to a message shared by former Aston Villa teammate Amadou Onana.

The Manchester United man enjoyed a largely successful loan spell with the West Midlands club, notching four goals and five assists in 17 appearances across all competitions.

Rashford helped Emery’s men reach the Champions League quarter-finals and FA Cup semi-finals before returning to Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Onana featured for Belgium as a substitute in their 1-1 draw with North Macedonia on Friday, 6 June.

Rashford responds as Onana shares defiant Belgium message

La Liga champions Barcelona could sign Rashford from Man United, as the England international boasts no place in Ruben Amorim’s plans.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old’s ex-Villa teammate Onana took to Instagram [7 June] after Belgium’s draw in North Macedonia and wrote: “Let’s learn from it and go again.”

Rashford commented with two flame emojis, while the post also attracted likes from Youri Tielemans and Ollie Watkins.

Rashford could struggle for game time at Barcelona as Man United exit beckons

After Rashford hit a rich vein of form during his loan spell with Villa, it is no surprise that he is keen to leave Man United after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim.

Rashford is set to leave Old Trafford

The 27-year-old will be keen to emulate his successful 2022/23 season in which he scored 30 goals and made nine assists for the Old Trafford club.

But since that clinical campaign, the England international has scored a total of just 15 goals for Man United, demonstrating that he is no longer capable of hitting his best form in the North West.

However, if Rashford joins Barcelona, he is unlikely to enjoy regular game time for Hansi Flick’s side, as the Catalonian giants already boast a star-studded attack.

The winger is seemingly incapable of removing either Lamine Yamal or Raphinha from Flick’s starting lineup.

Meanwhile, the evergreen Robert Lewandowski continues to shine up front, perhaps eliminating the possibility of Rashford being handed a starting berth as a striker.
